I was able to rename the last 2 files, but not delete them. I had to strip down to DOS and use the attrib command to remove the attributes. I was then able to delete these last 2 files.

I just beat this virus literally two days ago. I have avast antivirus but it slipped through its cracks. Luckily as xp08worm mocked fighting viruses by dumping more trojans in my computer, avast kept kicking them out. To solve the problem I hunted down xp08 by finding it in a folder named "rhcnkrg." Deleted that and then hunted it down in the registry and deleted it. Avast however still found some other stuff left. I then created a new user account and deleted the current one and all is well.

this thing caught me but ive used malwarebytes and spybot n it seems to have removed most threats but the xp antivirus 2008 application is still appearing in my menu?

I did something similar. Can I turn on system restore after I removed them I did what you mentioned, but the only difference was that I restored certain registry keys and then did a scan to deleted most of the program. I had to delete 2 of the manually. Again, can I turn the system restore option back on?

can you please help me? i use CA security center for my anti virus thing. it deletes the antivirus then when i start it up and scan it, it comes back up again. my desktop's changed, and then it keeps prompting me to install it. i hate those stupid ass faggots who made this.

ah what a nasty virus it got me a few months ago, i couldnt browse the internet i couldnt go on control panael and could not start up in safe mode. got it removed eventually by a friend...

if you can not see the circle of WOT at the begining of the browser's address bar, then remove the plugin and reinstall it, that might help

This program is the worst virus I've ever had. I erased my whole computer and I got a pop up saying do you want to scan with Antivirus I clicked "X" but it automatically installs. Programs are sponsoring this, so be careful what you download!
Get Firefox, Internet Explorer is crap, that's where you get all the viruses
also get AVG Internet Security 8.0 free! Just search for serials to use I use it, it's very good :)
