he's not whistling. all of the sounds he is emiting come from his throat. he makes a sound with his vocal chords and then isolates its harmonics i believe, so he can make two sounds at once.

its not so impossible many mongoloid people and even turks and hunnic people who mixed with mongols have the adequate physical attributes to do this but needs still a lot of practice
but i think it is impossible for a western european, latin american, african or such just because of different physical features
here in hungary some hungarians do throat singing as well as some kazakhs in kazakhstan and so on..

Hmm this seems kind of like the natural harmonics on stringed instruments. I don't understand much about vocal cords how this could be achieved but it seems the similar concept

i dont know, in wind instruments its the air that vibrates, so i dont know how it works exactly.
The distinct ... ( 6 days ago by eagle210414)
The distinct ringing you hear is an undertone, many established High Schooler choir kids can do this as well. It's difficult but you're not actually singing with your vocal cords, you're folding them and then singing with the folds. It's much like talking like the cookie monster. Same idea only then you sing with that voice and shape your mouth in a way to produce that sound.

In wind instruments ... ( 3 days ago by parquar)
In wind instruments, its actually the lips that cause the vibration, or a reed. (except flute) Vocal cords vibrating seem like they could be altered to single out harmonics as strings can though.
